Visual Employee Directories

A basic employee directory consists of a list of employees and their names, titles and contact information. A visual employee directory is more extensive and includes pictures, personal profiles and hierarchical views, indicating the structure of the organization.

Identifying employee groups often requires a database administrator to run complex queries against enterprise systems. Through a visual employee directory, employees and HR managers can quickly and easily run their own queries without the cost of ERP licenses. It enables the grouping of team members by skill set, role, position level, team membership and virtually any attribute contained in enterprise systems. You can search simple or complex criteria on all employees for any business purpose – from putting together project teams with specific skill sets (all engineers with French language skills in the Chicago office) to more specialized searches such as finding everyone who hasn’t had a pay raise in the past year.

Orientation for a new hire can also be streamlined with a visual employee directory, allowing him or her to match names with faces and to view charts associated with various employees to see peers, subordinates and managers – ultimately leading to a deeper understanding of the organization.
